Data mining from school electronic logbooks to signal and anticipate problematic situations and improve teaching objectives


Failure or lack of success in school learning is a serious social problem and it is very important for education officers to better understand the reasons why so many young people fail to complete their studies.

The diffusion in most Italian schools of electronic logbooks generates a large amount of data about didactic activities: students school attendance,  results obtained in the individual test trials, typology of these tests and so on.

The aim of this project is to retrieve and analyze with data mining techniques this data, to obtain information that tends to signal and anticipate problematic situations and in general to improve teaching objectives.
